Everyday Witches

I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes a good story. Obviously, we read to be entertained. But other than the obvious, what keeps us interested and willing to follow through with a story? Some stories shock and torment, some provide a delicious delve into romance or other naughty pleasures, some are tremendously funny, and some bring about a sense of resolution when the characters problems are faced and solved. I often find myself escaping into those worlds where the characters triumphantly overcome some obstacle and then revel in the moments of truly satisfying personal interactions. I feel like, in this digital world we live in, sometimes the importance of the little moments gets lost along the way, and I tend to gravitate towards such things. I guess I hope that, in addition to being entertained, my own writing will also be a place where people can experience that kind of satisfaction in triumph, and personal connection, and love. I want to entertain and delve into the paranormal but also to provide a space where, even though life isn’t always good, we see that it can be good and we can work towards making it that way, for ourselves and for those around us. With some really awesome magic and a little heat thrown in along the way!
