I’ve been saying this to myself all along, but I think I really have reached the most difficult part of my book this time. I’m at the nexus where the final dilemma will play out and all the little threads of story line are beginning to come together and reveal the ultimate picture. Some of them have been brewing for a long time and some have evolved differently over time than I had originally intended, but it’s all coming together quite well in my estimation. I’ve had so many different themes that I’ve wanted to explore with this book and it has been really cool to see them come to fruition over time. At the basic level I wanted to create a world, similar to ours but also quite different; and entertain with some really cool witchy magic. But I also wanted to explore the themes of justice, nature, responsibility, and some smoulderingly hot romances.
I’ve read some of those stories where everyone dies at the end and there’s no resolution at all and while they can be wildly entertaining, I like a little resolution, personally. Wrapping up all the loose ends might not be easy but I hope to tie everything up with justice done, love interests (eventually) satisfied, and a sense of peace between the interworking of human (witchy) intention and serendipity (the Gaia). And hopefully leave room for a second book! Wish me luck!!!
