I woke up today feeling inspired. Breathing in possibility and brimming with ideas of themes I’d love to explore. I don’t know what happened, but it felt good. I thought- today is the day to get this done. When I was first looking into creating a blog, I waffled a bit before coming to a decision with what I really wanted to write about. My original instinct was a blog I named- theplacewherepeaceresides. I created the domain name, plotted the theme and then let it sit on the back burner for awhile. I started thinking that maybe I was being too presumptuous with the concept. I mean, really, some days I can barely keep it all together. Who am I to write a blog on peace? But the topic really resonates with me and I loved the idea of working towards a more peaceful life with explorations on the topic.
Finally though I let my doubt win and I ditched the idea. Everyday Witches had been percolating for awhile and I really wanted to write the story, and so I settled on my decision. I paid for the website and before I could create the domain, WordPress told me, okay your domain- theplacewherepeaceresides is now bought and paid for. Arg!
So I waffled a little more and finally decided to just go ahead and pay for a new domain for Everyday Witches and I did it. I have thoroughly enjoyed the process and have high hopes for the future of my novel, even when the posts are sometimes met with nothing but the sound of crickets. I love writing fiction and figured that maybe just putting my work out there and telling my little corner of the world that this is who I am- author, creator, low budget philosopher, would be enough. But then sometimes there are just so many other topics I’d like to explore that just really don’t have a home on Everyday Witches.
So this morning, once again feeling super inspired I decided to go ahead and fill out the other site too. Make the big leap, dare to dream. I had about a million things that I wanted to say. So I sat down and got into my editor and could. not. figure out how to run both sites. The original domain showed up but was not accessible. I must’ve read about seven million help topics trying to figure out how to get it to work. Finally I got to the point that my brain hurt so bad I could not think and I still have no idea how to go about it all. And by the time I had gotten that far, I had already forgotten everything I wanted to say in the first place anyway. Sheesh!
I almost gave up on writing anything at all today but after a little bit of therapeutic housework I decided that it was an interesting enough story in and of itself to go ahead and share it as my mid-week round up. Hopefully the day finds you faring better or at least getting a kick out of my personal shenanigans. Maybe for today just being the reason that someone grins will be enough. 🙂 Anyway… I’m plodding along with the novel and maybe someday I’ll get it together enough to philosophize on peace but for now I’m going to go listen to some old Indie music and chill for a little while.
If you’d like to check out the novel itself, you can find it at Everyday Witches: chapter listing
