I like these witches. I like everything about them. The cool world they live in, where magic is possible at any moment and creatures unknown to man exist alongside the magic workers. I love the idea of the Gaia- a magical governing force that holds the world together; actively working to keep the Earth and all of its inhabitants safe and in balance. I like the notion of interesting, everyday witches who work alongside the Gaia to maintain justice and the Earth’s balance; while managing to make time for love, and family, and a little bit of fun, alongside their occasional kick-assery.
I love the rituals, and the intention setting, and the camaraderie found around a shared, weird life. There’s just something so satisfying about it all for me. In all of the research done and the story lines imagined in the writing of this book, I fell in love with the idea of these witches and the world they live in. I have never really considered becoming a Wiccan or a witch, but if I could be like the fictional ones I’ve created in ‘Everyday Witches’, I definitely would. In a life that often feels like there’s nothing more than running from crisis to crisis, I often find myself wishing that I could just throw on a healing potion or put up a protection shield. I definitely WOULD NOT harness a leprechaun to ensure my personal wealth, although the appeal is undeniable. 😉 LOL (Major bad guy in the story.)
I do, however, do some mindful intention setting with my daily yoga, and I suppose that’s going to have to suffice for me for now. It certainly brings me some peace anyway. And I guess that until the day Hagrid comes to get me for my stint at Hogwarts I’ll just have to delve into the world of reading and writing for my vicarious kicks. Until then- may all your intentions be realized, your justice delivered speedily, and some fun be had along the way!
